Adoptly

Safety and reporting

Adoptly only works if people feel safe using it. Here is how we keep it kind.

Listings are reviewed first

Every new or edited listing goes to a moderator before it appears in the feed. Until then you will see it marked “On moderation” on your profile.

What is not allowed

  • Animals offered for sale, breeding or fighting.
  • Photos or descriptions that are misleading or not yours.
  • Harassment, hate speech, spam and scams.
  • Sexual or violent content.
  • Anything illegal under Indian law, including the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

Report something

Open the ⋯ menu on a listing, a comment or a profile and choose Complain. Pick a reason — spam, scam, animal welfare, sexual content, harassment, hate speech or other — and that is all we need. Your report goes to our moderators, not to the other person.

Block someone

Blocking hides their listings and comments from you, and yours from them. You can unblock at any time in Settings → Blocked users.

What we do about it

Moderators review reports and can take a listing down, remove a comment or suspend an account. We aim to act on every report within 24 hours.

Meeting in person

Adoptly connects people directly; we are not a party to any adoption or agreement between users. Meet in a public place when you can, and use good judgement before handing over or receiving an animal.
